Kha Lam Temple Festival

Kha Lam Temple Festival held in Haiphong City, Vietnam is an annual religious festival conducted to pay homage to a selfless royal princess named Princess Chieu Minh, the daughter of King Tran Thanh Tong who sacrificed her entire life to on behalf of helpless people in her community. This famous religious festival which is attended by all communities in Haiphong and from other parts of Vietnam is held each year on the 3rd day of the sixth lunar month. Princess Chieu Minh is known by all communities in Haiphong City, Vietnam for her personal sacrifices made in building a bridge, opening a market, taking care of old people and lending her hand to help people in misfortune by offering all her fields and gardens to people. Main features of the festival include incense offering, recalling ceremonies, reciting the Buddhist scriptures and celebrating a requiem.
