This year, Maldives attended one of the most significant events for the tourism sector held in Spain. FITUR held in January provided industry experts from across the world an opportunity to interact with an internationally outbound market, especially travellers from Latin America. The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) planned to further establish its brand presence by participating in this event.

Maldives promoted its core themes including luxury, sustainability, romance, adventure and cultural tourism at the booth. It also included a photo backdrop, food tasting, calligraphy bookmarks and much more. The destination was also portrayed as family-friendly with many a family friendly Maldives resort and exciting activities for entertainment. With resorts like Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, the islands also came across as a wellness getaway destination to the Spanish market.
