This year, the Maldives is heavily targeting the Chinese market. For this, the island is preparing to offer not just the best beach villas in Maldives, but also the smaller guest houses for travellers on a budget. According to expert analysts, Amilla Maldives and other resorts are constantly offering special packages that tend to attract more Chinese visitors.
The Chairman of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation, Abdulla Ghiyas Riyaz also mentioned that the Maldives is easily accessible for Chinese tourists thanks visa visa-free entry. He continued to emphasize “Tourism is a powerful bridge that fosters cultural exchange, mutual understanding and economic collaboration”. Riyaz also stated that the increase in Chinese tourist arrivals will improve connections and bilateral relations between the 2 countries. The Maldives is now ready for the expected surge in Chinese tourists for Chinese New Year 2025.
