At the recently concluded Internationale Tourismus-Börse held in Germany’s capital Berlin, an official announcement was made naming Maldives as the partner country for ITB 2016. Billed as the leading travel trade show in the world, Internationale Tourismus-Börse was held from 4th to 8th March which offered an ideal platform in which to promote next year’s event. This campaign will be jointly undertaken by the Maldives which will publicize the event across a variety of media platforms. Additionally a campaign was launched that looked to promote this sought after Asian destination in 2016 to coincide with its 50th year of independence, looking to capitalise on its popularity which gives travellers the chance to stay at a Maldives luxury resort such as Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. As part of being an official partner for ITB, the Maldives will also be responsible for hosting ITB 2016’s opening ceremony which is scheduled to be held at City Cube Berlin.
