Travel from India to Mauritius is gaining momentum, with the island recording a 14.5% year-on-year increase in Indian visitors between January and July 2026. The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority recently conducted its third India-focused campaign of the year, engaging travel professionals across four major cities to showcase the island’s growing popularity. The campaign highlighted a range of experiences, from leisure and family holidays to wellness experiences at Mauritius spa hotels.
Beyond its beaches, Mauritius is being presented to Indian travellers through its cultural landmarks, nature reserves and multilingual, multicultural identity. The widespread use of Hindi and the availability of Indian cuisine further enhance its sense of familiarity and appeal. Properties such as The Residence Mauritius reflect this broader shift towards experience-led travel, attracting honeymooners, families and corporate groups. With visa-free entry, direct flight connectivity and a growing hospitality infrastructure, Mauritius continues to strengthen its position as an accessible, year-round destination for the Indian market.
