The Tourism Ministry in Sri Lanka gave the green light for the ‘Travel Card’ as a means to make arriving, leaving, exchanging currency and obtaining goods easier for tourists. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed for this initiative on the 21st of February 2023, and the ministry is working on the release as an expedited mission. The memorandum was signed by both the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and National Development Bank (NDB).
