Nawam Poya 2022 – An important Poya day for the Buddhists
Buddhists in Sri Lanka celebrate 12 Poya days throughout the year, and Navam Poya which they celebrate in February is special for several reasons. The first-ever Buddhist Congregation took place on this day and the appointment of Sariputta and Moggallana Theros as Chief Disciples also is said to have happened on the same day.
