With programmes that have been going on each month, Oman continues to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to its citizens and residents. Haitham bin Tariq, the Sultan of Oman, reaffirmed that the priority of the government would be to ensure that all individuals safely receive the vaccine. As part of the initiatives put in place, the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre was transformed into a vaccination centre in June 2021.
Aside from the vaccination drives, the country is also looking to encourage tourists to visit as well. As highlighted on the Al Jazeera website on 2nd May 2021, Oman has done away with the need for tourist visas for 103 nations when it comes to visits of up to two weeks; these include the United States and the United Kingdom as well as countries belonging to the European Union. Apart from the many attractions to visit in Oman, luxury resorts including properties such as Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort offer safe stays too.
