In a move that is bound to encourage more travel in the region, the UAE has included Oman in its green list of countries, regions and territories; these destinations are considered “safe” and respective citizens can travel directly to Abu Dhabi and not have to undergo quarantine on arrival. This was highlighted by Arab News in an online article published in January this year. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, China, New Zealand, Thailand, Mauritius and Hong Kong were among the other destinations on the list.
While Omani citizens can look forward to travelling to the UAE, the country has also opened its borders and has a similar green list with a little over 100 countries including those from GCC nations. For travellers heading to Oman, luxury resorts the likes of Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort provide safe accommodation options, while diverse experiences be it relating to culture, history or outdoor adventure are on offer too.
