If you’re on a quest to explore the many attractions in Oman, the beach at Ras Al Markaz is surely a hidden gem. The area has recently been marked as a point for oil exploration, however, the beautiful white sands thankfully still remain untouched.
Ras Al Markaz is a great location for angling, swimming and snorkelling due to the calmness of its waters. The surrounding cliffs and rocks provide for a wonderful location for some exclusive beachside camping. During winter, visitors can enjoy the influx of migratory birds, but visiting during gloomy weather might be taxing as the seas are rougher and the area is prone to flash floods. Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort and others near the old town of Nizwa which as an old fort, can provide a convenient base from which to Ras Al Markaz.
