The plan and the proposal presented by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to open Phuket to international travellers was approved by the Center for Economic Situation Administration (CESA) recently. According to this plan, all international travellers who have got themselves fully vaccinated get the chance to explore Phuket. In addition to this main requirement, the travellers also have to be tested negative upon arriving in Phuket.
Phuket restaurants the likes of Age Restaurant can now start their normal operations with the commencement of this program ‘Phuket Sandbox 2021’. Travellers have to adhere to general health and safety measures such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance. Thailand will implement the same strategy in 5 other destinations in the country in the future, and the TAT believes that, through this, they can develop the tourism sector further.
