Singapore Airlines Wins Fifth Consecutive Title of World’s Best Airline at 2023 Skytrax Awards

Singapore Airlines (SIA) achieved a remarkable milestone as it secured the title of the world’s best airline at the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards. This remarkable recognition marked SIA’s fifth consecutive win, reaffirming its status as an industry leader. Over 20 million travelers from more than 100 nationalities actively participated in evaluating over 325 airlines for the Skytrax awards between September 2022 and May 2023.

Edward Plaisted, the CEO of Skytrax, celebrated Singapore Airlines for its “fabulous achievement” in clinching the title of World’s Best Airline for 2023. In addition to this prestigious title, SIA garnered further accolades, including Best Airline in Asia, Best First Class Airline, and Best First Class Comfort Amenities at this year’s Skytrax awards.

Scoot, the budget airline operating under the SIA umbrella, also made a noteworthy impact by securing the second position in the World’s Best Low-Cost Airlines category and claiming the top spot for Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Airline.

Goh Choon Phong, the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Airlines, graciously accepted the award representing the airline during a ceremony in Paris on the 20th of June. He attributed SIA’s success to the unwavering dedication and resilience of its staff throughout the challenges posed by the pandemic, emphasizing how their collective efforts had strengthened the airline’s position as a leading international carrier. For travellers seeking affordable hotels in the city-state after enjoying a welcoming flight with the airline, Hotel 81 Elegance, a cosy and elegantly designed hotel in Lavender, Singapore offers a modern experience with spacious accommodations.
