Organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the Sri Lanka Investment & Business Conclave (SLIBC) 2017 is scheduled to be held from 30th of May to 1st June, in Colombo. With the objective of attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Sri Lanka, this year’s conclave will be hosted under the theme “Growth through Partnerships”. Up and coming luxury lifestyle and residential projects such as Cinnamon Life Colombo are a testament to the new business initiatives and partnerships that can be seen in the island’s commercial capital.
Those planning to attend the SLIBC 2017 can consider accommodation options at Sri Lanka apartments in the city. According to The Island newspaper, Sri Lanka will launch its “Private-Public Partnership” (PPP) Unit at the business conclave, as approved by a Cabinet decision. With the backing of the World Bank, the PPP Unit is mandated by the Ministry of Finance with the intention of obtaining investment from both the national and international private sector in order to support the domestic economic agenda. More than one hundred business partners and investors from over twenty countries are expected to witness the launch of the PPP Unit.
