Sri Lanka Looks to Draw More Indian Tourists – Roadshows Successfully Held in India

In a bid to attract more Indian tourists, Sri Lanka held several roadshows in India, paving the way for what should hopefully be an increase in arrivals in the months to come. The initial roadshow took place in New Delhi on 26th September this year and featured more than 200 attendees from the Indian travel trade as well as members of the local media; at the event, successful discussions were held with Jyoti Mayal, the President of the Travel Agents Association of India, who pledged to support this neighbouring nation. Similar roadshows were also hosted in Mumbai on 28th September 2022 where former Sri Lankan cricket superstar, Sanath Jayasuriya, addressed the gathering and in Hyderabad on 30th September 2022.

More than 50 travel trade members from Sri Lanka attended the roadshows along with the country’s   Minister of Tourism, Harin Fernando, who met with tourism stakeholders, business leaders and corporate entities. Indian travellers remain a leading source market to the island with many such tourists looking to spend their holiday in Sri Lanka. Accommodation is easy to find here and can be enjoyed as part of the packages from trusted tour operators like NKAR Travel House; they provide tailormade excursions to the best of this destination including idyllic beaches, mountainside hideaways, sacred sites, cultural attractions, exotic wildlife and more.
