August notably ranked as the second-highest month for tourist arrivals this year, following a strong performance in July with 143,039 visits. Minister of Tourism and Lands, Harin Fernando, unveiled a significant global promotional campaign, investing 1.6 billion rupees to attract more visitors. With ambitions to welcome two million tourists in 2023, especially during the upcoming bustling winter season, Sri Lanka’s tourism industry aims for continued growth and recovery.
