For its development of a unique Travel Inquiry Management System (TIMS), Sri Lanka Tourism was a deserved winner at the recent e-Swabhimani Awards. The award was garnered under the Public Sector category at a ceremony held at the Galle Face Hotel on 29th November 2018. It is noteworthy that in just a three month period, the system brought in travel leads worth more than 2.1 billion rupees.
The newly developed Travel Inquiry Management System offers much needed digital services which are seen as key to help increase tourists arrivals. The system helps connect travellers with registered travel agents, while also giving users the chance to select and find a destination as per specific themes such as beaches and wildlife. Apart from distinctive experiences, these travellers are also on the lookout for accommodation at both budget and luxury hotels and resorts. To meet this demand, the hospitality sector at present features well-known names in the international hospitality industry as well including the likes of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.
