Sri Lanka being one of the popular tourist destinations in the South Asian region is continuously seeing an increase in tourist footfall this year. The statistics department of Sri Lanka tourist board reported that the number of tourists who arrive at the country has been increased by 12.6% in April comparing with last year.
The authority of tourism in Sri Lanka has predicted that the number will continue to rise until the end of this year. The Department also stated that the largest tourist arrival to the country was from the Asia & Pacific regions which comprised of 46 per cent of the total traffic received in April 2018. It has also been identified that coastal resorts, the likes of Anantara Kalutara Resort which is a Luxury Hotel in Sri Lanka along with many others have been receiving the largest split form the total tourist arrival. This is because; most of the tourists prefer the coastal regions of Sri Lanka as their vacation destination due to the tropical climate.
