Sri Lanka Welcomes Global Travellers – Tourists Enjoy Holidays Once More

Since Sri Lanka lifted its border restrictions on 21st January 2021, the island has seen a steady increase in tourist arrivals. Amongst the aspects drawing travellers here is that there’s no restrictive quarantine. Apart from undergoing frequent testing, tourists must stay at a ‘Safe and Secure’ Level 1 property such as Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort that has been approved by the government; if they test negative for COVID-19 after 14 days, they are free to travel to other parts.

Within these safe properties, guests are free to move around and enjoy a relaxing stay in Sri Lanka; luxury villa accommodation aside, they also have access to designated attractions such as the Yala National Park, Sinharaja Forest Reserve and Mirissa where they can go whale watching. Further positive news came on 18th March 2021 whereby travellers who arrive after two weeks of completing the COVID-19 vaccination need to stay only seven days at ‘Safe and Secure’ Level 1 hotels.
