SriLankan Airlines Named Best Airline in South Asia – Winning A Prestigious Accolade

Adding to its growing list of international awards, SriLankan Airlines was recently named by the Top Travel magazine of China as the Best Airline in South Asia. Announced at the tenth edition of the annually held Top Travel Awards, this accolade was given in recognition of the increasing efforts taken by SriLankan Airlines to expand China and Sri Lanka travel links. In fact, China has become one of the country’s largest tourism markets, second only to India. According to statistics put out by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, in 2016, Chinese tourist numbers were recorded at 271,577 a 26% increase from the previous year.
