Thailand Eases Travel Restrictions for Fully Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Travellers

The 22nd of April 2022 marked a turning point in Thailand’s travel restrictions as the requirement for mandatory RT-PCR test was removed for visitors travelling to all areas of the country like Phuket, Chiang Mai or Bangkok resort hotels. Gradually taking steps to further open the country for tourism, following the pattern of fellow South East Asian countries like Singapore, Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Administration (CCSA) made decisions on relaxing entry requirements.

With effect from the 1st of May 2022, fully vaccinated travellers were no longer required to face a pre-departure or an on-arrival PCR test and were only requested to present a valid vaccination certificate before travel. They were also free to take any mode of transportation to hotels like Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort. For those who are not fully vaccinated, Thailand requests them to travel directly to the hotel in a designated mode of transport where they will be staying until an RT-PCR will be taken on the fourth day.
