The new year for tourism in Thailand got off to a flying start as the country launched its e-Visa system on 1st January 2025. Travellers around the world can now access the official Thai e-Visa website (www.thaievisa.go.th), which gives them the chance to complete the full process online. Apart from streamlining procedures, this user-friendly and paperless system also features advanced screening processes to ensure enhanced security.
The good news for Thai tourism is that international arrivals are already on the rise. As mentioned in the Bangkok Post on 4th February 2025, Thailand welcomed 3.7 million visitors this January, which was a 22% increase when compared to the same period last year.
It should be noted that apart from the introduction of the global e-Visa system, the nation’s islands remain a key draw to travellers, including those looking to enjoy stays at resorts in Patong, Phuket. Properties on this popular island, such as Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, continue to provide an ideal escape, offering everything from sublime relaxation and cultural experiences to wellness retreats and fun nightlife. All these factors bode well as the country looks to achieve its year-end target of recording 40 million tourists.
