Thailand’s Thriving Art Scene in 2020 – A Spotlight on Creative Talent

In December 2020, the Bangkok Post paid tribute to some of Thailand’s most outstanding art creations; as part of the “Highlights of Thailand’s Art Scene in 2020”, the article also focused on some events which ended only last month. This included the Bangkok Art Biennale 2020; launched on 29th October 2020 it concluded on 31st January 2021 and was held at 10 venues, easily accessible for those staying at a city hotel. Bangkok Art and Culture Centre close to properties such as Avani Atrium Bangkok Hotel, Museum Siam, Lhong 1919 and Wat Pho were amongst the venues which featured over 200 artworks.

The People Wall, a mural by Headache Stencil, an anonymous street artist as well as other popular artists was another artwork highlighted in the article; it was on display at The Jam Factory till 9th January 2021. Other notable mentions included the light installations of “Awakening Bangkok 2020” and Yozanun Wutigonsombutkul’s (Suntur) unique “A Little Letter From Someone Somewhere” at the JWD Art Space.
