The Maldives sees recovery in the tourism sector – Good times once again!

According to the recent news about the travel and tourism sector in the Maldives, 147,744 travellers have visited the island destination from the 01st January to 17th February 2021. According to the sources, the tourists have arrived mainly from Russia, India, and other countries such as France, Germany, the UAE, Romania, and Ukraine.

Almost every Maldives beach resort the likes of The Residence Maldives Dhigurah and guesthouses are now open throughout the country to welcome international guests. Currently, over 25 airlines are bridging the Maldives to the rest of the world through regular flights. The Maldives also started the vaccination program in February when the Ministry of Tourism decided to vaccinate those who work in the tourism sector with immediate effect.
