The president cup falcon competitions 2015 – taking the ancestral sports to the next level

The President’s Cup Falcon Competitions in the UAE will be held from the 15th to the 27th January 2015, under the patronage of the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE armed forces. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Falconer’s Club to preserve and support the UAE’s heritage and ancestral sports, the competition will feature three main disciplines. Cash prizes worth AED 25,000,000 as well as 56 cars will be distributed among the winners thus making the competition more exciting and challenging.

For the first time in the globe accurate information such as the flight distance and speed will be captured with the use of the newly launched technology where an electronic ring will be put around the falcon’s leg. Travellers planning to travel to the city to witness this spectacular event could consider seeking for accommodation at a Desert Resort Abu Dhabi offers such as Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara that will ensure a comfortable stay.
