Highlighting the popularity of this emirate, Abu Dhabi is set to reach a total of 3.1 million tourists for the year 2014, which the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority indicated as an increase over last year’s number. Tourists have been able to enjoy a number of unique experiences such as staying at a distinctive desert resort Abu Dhabi has to offer such as Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara which is located in the famed Liwa Desert.
According to statistics hotel occupancy rates in Abu Dhabi went up to 74% which was an increase of 6% when compared with the same period in the previous year, while revenues increased as well. One factor that contributed to this increase was the strong figures posted in October, mainly due to the Formula One Grand Prix race that was held at the Yas Marina Circuit. There was also a significant increase in the percentage of visits from those in the UAE as well as from India.
