The Vat Savitri Puja Festival in Bihar – Festivity to mark the well-being and longevity of the beloved!

Considered to be one of the highly anticipated religious festivals in India, the Vat Savitri Puja was celebrated on the 25th of May this year (2017). The festival is celebrated in India in memory of the illustrious lady Savitri who courageously fought back to bring back her husband’s soul from the hands of the god of death. Married Hindu women who take part in this auspicious festival will follow a number of religious customs and practices such as fasting and applying vermilion on their forehead. Married women throughout India will also take part in prayer’s requesting for prosperity and long life for their husband’s.
