Toowoomba Regional Tourism and Events Strategy 2020 – Toowoomba 2020

The Toowomba Regional Tourism and Events Strategy has been developed by the Regional Council to properly develop tourism in the region following the setbacks due to the corona virus pandemic in the early part of 2020.

Though in 2011-2012 the demographic of visitors to the region were 63% made of domestic day-trippers, in recent years and as of 2019 the demographic has turned towards more foreign visitors. With this in mind, the Regional Council aims to better facilitate the requirements of foreign visitors such as the ready availability of public restrooms in parkland areas, the introduction of more serviced apartments to Toowoomba aimed at the long-term guests, such as Oaks Toowoomba Hotel. Offering more iconic experiences that focus on bringing Toowoomba’s nature reserves and culture to the forefront in a way that is conservative and ensures that both are well preserved and well-funded. In order to ensure this, the Regional Council hopes to deliver innovative and high-quality services putting cleanliness and hygiene to the forefront as well as fostering long term partnerships with hotel chains and conservationists.
