Tourism Growth in the Philippines – An All-Time High for the Nation

It was discovered that 6.6 million people visited the Philippines in 2017, which is the highest the country has ever experienced. This was an 11% increase from the 5.9 million of 2016. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, Philippines has bested the Asia and the Pacific regions, respectively, where tourism growth is concerned.

In a very gracious speech, Tourism Secretary, Wanda Corazon Teo, thanked all tourism stakeholders for their contribution to the nation’s success in this regard. The presence of various accommodation providers, such as Berjaya Makati Hotel, which is a Manila hotel in Makati.

Many major events that attracted tourism to the Philippines, such as Miss Universe, the ASEAN Summit, and Madrid Fusion Manilla 2017, were all referenced as contributors the prosperity of the nation’s tourism industry of that year.
