Riau Islands will soon have a travel bubble implemented with Singapore. Through this initiative, travellers from both regions will be free to visit each destination without a mandatory quarantine policy. Officials try to include Batam and Bintan islands too in this bubble initiative, as they are also highly dependent on the travel and tourism industry.
This will ensure that Bintan resorts the likes of The Residence Bintan will receive international guests again, and thus, this will also be a great initiative to strengthen the collapsed economy. Every resort, however, will be fully monitored by the local authorities. The Singapore government will also have a close eye regarding the health and safety protocols adapted by the resorts.
