Travel Weekly’s best wildlife experiences in the world – Shining a spotlight on the Indian Ocean

UK’s leading publication for the travel sector, Travel Weekly, have released their list of top 6 wildlife destinations in the Indian Ocean. The list was made up of largely island nations and included countries like Sri Lanka, Seychelles and Maldives. Some surprise entries were countries like Mauritius, which is more popularly known for its luxury Mauritius 5 star resorts and hotels like the InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort, for example, which is located near the beautiful coastline. Each country was picked for the unique wildlife or a particular species that attracts travellers to their shores. According to the list, the Indian Ocean is generally overlooked when it comes to big wildlife safaris and yet, it is home to an endless array of creatures, on land and sea. The Travel Weekly list was made to highlight the best experiences available all year round.
