Vietjet, famous for being the first ever privately-owned Vietnamese airline recently expanded its routes to Thailand, through a total of six international flight paths. These new routes include Ho Chi Minh City to Phuket, Dalat to Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City to Chiang Mai. In order to promote these new routes, Vietjet sold 15,000 tickets for free!
These tickets were offered during ‘Golden Hours’, from 12 pm to 2 pm, on specific days from November to December 2017. This would’ve been a definite benefit for many providers of Thai accommodation, since the immense savings bestowed upon travellers would’ve enabled travellers to opt for a luxurious beachfront villa in Koh Samui from names such as Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort over more budget choices. There’s a chance that Vietjet will feature more ‘Golden Hours’ in the future.
