In a move to boost the tourism industry and encourage foreign travellers to Oman, the country granted visa-free entry for citizens of 103 nations; this was according to an online article published on 9th January 2021 by Arab News. This was a welcome move in addition to the announcement made last July whereby tourist visas were extended to March 2021. From Muscat resorts to Salalah hotels including the likes of Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, Oman continues to offer a range of safe accommodation options along with diverse holiday experiences.
As per the new guidelines (which are subject to change), foreign tourists who are eligible for visa-free entry must bring a negative result of a COVID‑19 PCR test taken 72 hours before arrival; they are allowed to stay for a maximum of 10 days and must also undergo a PCR test on arrival, quarantine for seven days and take another PCR test on the eighth day.
