Xi’an Focuses on Cultural Tourism
Putting the Spotlight on Tang Cultural Elements
The municipal government and municipal party committee of Xi’an have been focusing on combining cultural tourism and elements of ancient Tang Dynasty culture with modern tourism innovations to draw more people to the city. This was highlighted on the PR Newswire website on 01st June 2022 which went on to reveal that the popular Chinese web series, “The Longest Day in Chang’an”, had helped to revive an interest in Tang culture. Chang’an was the name given to ancient Xi’an and the show provided a unique insight into life back then.
Interestingly, there are Tang-related attractions to be enjoyed here too. Amongst these is the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City or Great Tang All Day Mall, a pedestrian mall running from the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda’s south square to the Tang City Wall Heritage Park; here, one will come across Tang Dynasty-style buildings and sculptures, plenty of shopping and dining options as well as street performances. Those based at Xi’an hotels in the city centre including properties like Grand Park Xian can easily reach this site as well as other key historical attractions such as the Ancient City Wall.
