Abu Dhabi announces 10% tourist tax waiver

Abu Dhabi continues to prioritize tourism growth with the extension of fee waivers for event organizers including Abu Dhabi resorts. The Department of Culture and Tourism has prolonged the exemption of the 10% tourism fee on event tickets until December 31, 2024, aiming to bolster the tourism sector. Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry, Director General of Tourism at DCT, emphasized the importance of events in attracting global visitors and reaffirmed the commitment to supporting event partners and organizers.

To benefit from the fee waiver, event organizers must adhere to regulations set by the Abu Dhabi Events Licensing System, including revenue declaration and cooperation with designated auditors. This initiative aligns with broader measures to stimulate tourism, such as reduced fees for hotels in luxurious locations such as Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara and updates to holiday home policies, including the allowance for farmhouse conversion and the option for landlords to obtain multiple holiday home licenses.
