In May this year, the world’s first premium luxury airline, BEOND inaugurated its office in Male, the capital of the Maldives. Amongst the dignitaries at the opening was Tero Taskila, the CEO of BEOND and Ahmed Zuhair, the Minister of State for Transport and Civil Aviation. The airline is expected to provide connections to 60 destinations around the world in five years after its launch and will play a significant part in boosting tourism. Visitors can not only look to fly on this upscale airline from long-distance destinations but also stay at the best resorts in Maldives offering luxury comforts and unique experiences; this includes Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives, an exclusive private island property catering to couples and families alike.
Apart from the tourism benefits, BEOND is also expected to uplift the local economy and create diverse employment opportunities. By the end of 2023, the airline is expected to have hired approximately 200 employees, while around 1,500 added jobs will be created with its expansion. The airline which will feature connections to Europe, Australia, Asia, and Africa will also incorporate sustainable and eco-friendly technologies further adding to its appeal.
