Star chefs in Sri Lanka had a momentous encounter in January 2016. Marco Pierre White, the three-Michelin star chef and judge of Master Chef Australia was hosted in Sri Lanka by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts. The tour was a collaborative effort with Cinnamon Air, a leading air taxi Sri Lanka is known for. White’s tour of the island went on from 18th to 30th January 2016. However, the highlight of the tour was a cookery class and lunch hosted by the star chef. It was held on the 30th of January from 9 a.m to 1 p.m at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. Many local culinary stars got the opportunity to meet White, learn from him and partake in a meal. White is said to have disclosed many culinary secrets and also emphasized the importance of cooking quality meals. It is hoped these encounters will continue to be organized in the future.
