A fun event that coincided with the school holidays in Sri Lanka, the Cinnamon Culinary Camp 2019 took place this month. Held from 9th to 11th August at Cinnamon Grand Colombo, this special camp was open to children from 7 to 13 years of age. Those who attended the three day event at this luxury hotel Colombo has to offer received hands-on training from professional chefs and got the chance to harness their culinary creativity.
As part of the Cinnamon Culinary Camp 2019, children took part in enjoyable grocery runs as well as learned about sautéing methods, nutrition, chopping techniques and flavour pairing. There was a Baking Boot Camp and a Cake Decorating Challenge as well, while participants were also taught different culinary styles including preparing dishes from countries like Sri Lanka, China and Italy.
