A forum on China – Maldives tourism was held on the 3rd of July 2018. The main purpose of the forum was to expand the ties between the two nations and to attract more Chinese tourists to visit the archipelago. Leading travel agents, government officials from both the countries participated in the event.
It was also stated in the event that “Chinese visitors contributed greatly to the tourism of Maldives by being the No.1 country from which most of the tourists visited Maldives”. Economists say that the commencement of this forum will further increase the tourist footfall from China to Maldives. This will, in turn, be good news for travel operators of both countries and accommodation options the likes of Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort which is a renowned luxury resort in Maldives and with many other resort properties.
