The United States and France Tourist Markets Boost Maldives Tourism in 2018 – More Prospects for the Maldives

The market share in the tourism industry in the United States and France have both increased significantly this year. This is all thanks to the carefully implemented marketing plan by the Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation’s (MMPRC). Up until now, there have been a total of 20,584 tourist arrivals from the United States and 30,360 tourist arrivals from France this year.

The is a significant growth in tourism from both these markets this year compared to last year. Visitors from the US have increased by 12.7% and France by 23.2%. The route to Paris, Velana airport is partly responsible for the good figures displayed for this year. Luxury resort in Maldives is doing quite well especially Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort. So far for this year, the total number of tourists from both markets amounts to 726,515.
