The Hong Kong Sevens began in 1976 as a means to bring the sport of Rugby to an Asian audience. The event has since evolved into one of the most notable sporting events in the country and this year’s one marked the forty-second occurrence of the event, and the seventh competition in the 2016 to 2017 World Rugby Sevens Series. Due to the magnitude of the event, many Rugby fans from all over the world flocked to occupy rooms in many a Wanchai Hotel such as the likes of the Dorsett Wanchai Hong Kong. The tournament had a massive forty-thousand audience and concluded with a massive win for Fiji, who won the match 22-0. The team are one of the most popular in Rugby for their skills and showmanship and simply conquered the event with the power of Olympic athletes. The team definitely made their coach proud, considering he used to coach the Hong Kong team.
