With a history of twenty-three years, the Sonar Festival is one of the most recognised events in the world of electronic music. This event is a lot more than just a musical festival however, since it is a platform for creativity and innovation in its relevant field. What started off in 1994 as the “Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art’ soon grew to become a three day occurrence containing many elements. Given that Hong Kong is a hotbed the arts and technology, as well as being a tourism hotspot with many a Wanchai hotel to choose from such as the Dorsett Wanchai Hong Kong. Organisers, such as Justin Sweeting therefore felt that it was a natural choice. With renowned artists such as DJ Shadow, and various workshops taking place as part of Plus-D side, this is a great platform for people to experience electronic music and learn a lot about various things concerned with the subject.
