As part of its one of a kind ‘In the Know’ concept, InterContinental Bali Resort is offering visitors unique insights and tips to some of the island’s most captivating sites such as Tenganan Village. In order for travellers to explore this enchanting village, tours can be organised from this luxury hotel. Bali is home to traditional villages where one can witness age old traditions, customs and livelihood and Tenganan Village is one such prime example. Tucked away in the hills in southeast Bali, this 700 year old village is encircled by walls and is amongst the very first pre-Hindu settlements in the island. Home to the Bali Aga people, the village is a living museum of culture, rituals and ceremonies. Visitors on a tour can expect to see traditional style rice barns, longhouses and shrines along with being able to observe locals engaged in the customary making of ‘geringsing’, a distinctive textile that has to be carefully woven.
