India’s biggest airline based on number of passengers, IndiGo, just announced that they will feature non-stop flight-paths between Colombo and two Indian states: Chennai and Bangalore. The rates are also incredibly lucrative, with Rs. 3599 to Chennai and Rs. 5999 to Bangalore. Both corporate and leisure travellers can now enjoy easy, affordable and convenient flights between the two nations.
The move was explained largely due to Sri Lanka’s rise in prominence as one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in South Asia. The new flight-paths will prove very beneficial for the tourism industry of Sri Lanka, especially hotels in Galle, one of Sri Lanka’s most popular destinations, along the lines of The Fortress Resort and Spa. With flights to Sri Lanka, IndiGo now officially covers 49 destinations across the world.
