The global hit musical Mamma Mia! is continuing its run in Melbourne, Australia offering ABBA fans a chance to enjoy some of the band’s greatest hits. The musical which began its run in July is set to continue till 30th September at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne. Hotel apartments in the city within a short walk away, such as Oaks on Lonsdale offer out of state and international visitors an ideal base from which to head to the venue.

With the recent release of the movie version’s sequel (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again), interest to see Catherine Johnson’s original musical version has no doubt increased. Telling the story of a young girl’s quest to find which of three possible men could be her father, this heartwarming tale is set on an island in Greece. It features a gamut of much-loved songs composed by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson; these include Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper,  Money, Money, Money and Take a Chance on Me.
