MATTA Fair Expected to Boost Domestic Tourism – Attracting More Local Tourists

The MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents) Fair held in March this year is expected to help in boosting domestic tourism in Malaysia by encouraging more locals to travel within the country. This popular travel fair was held from 15th to 17th March 2019 at Kuala Lumpur’s Putra World Trade Centre and featured a range of stalls highlighting local and international hotspots.

To promote domestic tourism there was a “domestic buyer’s contest” with prizes that included roundtrip tickets to local destinations. While the Malaysian state of Sabah was chosen as “Malaysia’s Favourite Destination” at MATTA 2019, this is by no means the only place of interest that locals can plan a holiday to; be it staying at a resort in Sarawak or a hotel in Labuan such as the 5-star Dorsett Grand Labuan, travellers have much to look forward to.
