As the moon peaks brightly from beneath the dark clouds of the night on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, Hong Kong comes aglow with the celebration of the mid-autumn festival. According to ancient Chinese folklore, the full moon represents unity. This is the main focus of the mid-autumn festival where family members and relatives dine and enjoy the special festivities together.

If you happen to be at a Sheung Wan hotel at this time of year, then you’ll be lucky enough to witness the colourful festivities that bring the night to life. You’ll find locals offers spherical fruits like pears, grapes and pomegranates and the highlight of it all, moon cakes to the heavens! Moreover, the fire dragon dance is a wonderful sight to behold. If you are supposedly lodged at hotels like Travelodge Central, Hollywood Road inquire from the staff about which place you ought to visit during the festivities
