Having been liberated from Portuguese occupation in June 1975, the Republic of Mozambique today is preparing to celebrate 48 years of freedom and independence, a half-century of peace and growth after fighting hard battles for over 10 years. With many parades and celebrations happening throughout the day, both within homes and without, the celebrations notably take over the national stadium in Maputo with exciting programs of music and entertainment. Many Mozambique island resorts prepare to receive an influx of visitors due to this celebratory time – including such properties as the Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort, where you can find appropriate cultural activities that represent the country, allowing guests to participate and get a better understanding of Mozambique as a whole.
