In December 2015, the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) was held and as many 195 countries agreed to effectively combat climate change. The agreement will be brought into action from 2020 onwards. However, it has been noted that since the talks the world has momentarily taken their minds off climate change. It is important that people around the world are constantly reminded of the dire state of the environment. Thus, pre-2020 preparatory action must be taken to combat climate change. Maldives resort hotel conservation projects such as the coral adoption programme at Anantara Veli Maldives Resort are thankfully being implemented and are helping in regard to combating climate change.
