Kick starting the Eid-Al-Fitr Festival this year tourists and locals alike headed to the scenic environs of Salalah to mark the annual religious occasion with pomp and pageantry. Bus operators reported a high influx of bookings as most of Oman and the travelling masses headed to the western province of Salalah for the yearly monsoon season festival, known locally as Khareef. Al Ghazal Transport officials made great efforts to meet the increased demand for bus transfers to the area during the festival while hospitality hubs the likes of Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara and every Salalah beach resort of repute were also booked for the season. Local tour organizers took measures to increase daily tours to Salalah by offering two extra trips to the area daily. Having taken place from the 5th of July to the 9th this year the Eid Al-Fitr celebrations are marked with public holidays for locals each year.
