Salah Free Zone is all set to create over 2000 direct jobs and foreign investments exceeding $55 million as well as to export 12 million garments each year. Salalah Free Zone has also attracted investments in the trade of ornaments and jewelry, logistics solutions, warehouse facilities and cold storage, a first for the Sultanate. Salalah, known locally as the “Oasis of Oman”, attracts many tourists during its rainy season that runs from July – September. With the area, primed for rapid development, tourism is also expected to rise considerably. With the likes of Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara in the area, choosing a beach resort Salalah to explore the region is easy for leisure and business travellers. Operations on Tara Jewels and Darvesh are set to start building infrastructure at Salalah immediately and to be fully operational by 2018.
